- Out of the 7 Billion people on Earth, 4 Billion people are already on the internet! That means 66.69% of total population is already online. This is expected to grow even more by the year 2020.
- Over 40,000 search queries are processed every second by Google, which translates to over 3.5 Billion searches per day and 1.2 trillion searches per year worldwide.
*Stats recovered from ILS - 5000 domain names are registered every hour. This turns out to be 120000 domains registered on daily basis and an astonishing 43 million domain names a year.
- 293.6 Billion emails are sent out every day. Next year, this number will grow by 4.4%, translating into a whopping 306.4 Billion emails per day.
- 300 hours of video content is uploaded on YouTube every minute! That means 30000 hours of new content every hour, and 720000 hours of new content every day.
If you wanted to watch all this content uploaded to YouTube in just one day, it’ll take you 82.2 years! - 2.45 Billion people have an active account on Facebook. That’s more than the population of China.
- An average person – that’s you and me – spends almost 10 hours online every day. Meaning we spend more time on the Internet than we do sleeping!
They say, stories sell. But I’m pretty convinced that these mind-boggling stats are enough to sell you that, Internet is STILL the next big thing.

Even if you’re part of the “dis-enchanted by online marketing” part of the world, you might have heard of this 8-year-old boy.
So, what is he doing in the headlines of the top news medias like The Wall Street Journal, CNN and BBC?
Is he famous?
Is he rich?
Does he have a brand?
Yes. Yes. And yes.
Ryan got there by “unboxing toys” on YouTube videos!
His channel on YouTube, “Ryan’s World” has amassed 23 million subscribers and he earned $26 Million in advertising revenue!
See, that’s the beauty of digital marketing.
When I was 8 years old, I didn’t even had pockets to my pant to hide a single penny in!
And fewer than 20 years ago, to earn such a crazy amounts of money, you had to build a huge company and hire a ton of employees.
But now, even an 8-year-old kid, Ryan Kaji has become multi-millionaire from his kitchen table, only by opening a bunch of toys!
That means, as a single individual, you can build a massively profitable business, earning you millions, from the comfort of your couch, or living room!
That’s the reason why Seth Godin believes that Digital Marketing is the “Next Big Thing”!
But let’s be honest here…
At the age of 23, my parents would not allow me to record myself unboxing toys and post it on the Internet! That’s just amusing!
And like you, I do not possess the “expertise” level in any subject – like Ryan has in unboxing toys.
Neither I’m Seth Godin, with the command he has on words and a line of amazingly insightful books on marketing.
These kinds of people – even if they themselves are not special – are blessed with a very special environment around them, that’s what I believe.

Then one day, I was scrolling through Instagram, and stumbled upon a video from Dan Lok.
It was titled – “HOW TO MAKE MONEY ONLINE”. And it was from Dan Lok – author of “F. U. Money”, business magnate, global educator and founder of Closers.com. I got hooked and started watching!
And boy, thank god I watched that. He said,

Each year McKinley Marketing Partners conducts a survey and brings an in-depth report, shedding light on current and emerging factors shaping demand for marketing talent.
Their 2018 hiring trends report revealed following key findings:
- Demand for marketing talent continues to exceed supply in key areas.
- 69 percent of companies plan to hire more marketers in 2017 than they did the previous year (up from 44 percent).
- Nearly 60 percent of marketing hires will be digital.

It’s Digital Marketing.
This upsurge in demand of digital marketers reflects that, now every business is realizing the growing importance of digital marketing capability to a company’s bottom line. Moreover, they need an on-going digital marketing strategy that is constantly being optimized.
The report further shows that in 2017, these digital marketers’ hires grew by 32% from 2016 and 34% of those hires were permanent positions.
Sorry, Indian moms and dads, but it looks like government jobs are not the only permanent secure positions nowadays!
This booming popularity of the digital marketers also brings many remarkable perks with the job positions.
